Suze is a female speech synthesis voice intended for use in assistive technologies. It was created in collaboration with the Association for Assistive Technology “Open the Windows”, prof. Dr. Veselinka Labroska from the Institute of Macedonian Language “Krste Petkov Misirkov” and Stefan Janev, M.Sc. from Melon Inc., and with the support of the Macedonian office of UNICEF for the needs of the Cboard application. The voice “Suze” was promoted at INNOFEIT in the presence of Jovanka Trenchevska, Minister of Labor and Social Policy and Patrizia DiGiovanni, representative of UNICEF.
The voice Suze is free software that works with the RHVoice free speech synthesizer. The voice can be downloaded for free from “Google Play” and installed on an Android mobile device or tablet, or it can be installed on a computer and used with screen readers such as NVDA. The creation of the voice “Suze” was supported by the Macedonian office of UNICEF within the project “Inclusion of children with disabilities in preschool education”. The voice was lent by Suzana Todorovska, a postgraduate student at the Faculty of Philology at UKIM.
